It's been ages hasn't it?

Yeah I'm still alive, actually more alive than I've been in a long time.
A lot has changed, not everything for the best but, mostly things have been great.

Since my sense of time is non existent I'll cut the crap to the stuff that happened the last few weeks.

About two weeks ago I ran into Ditte at The Rock for the Hell On Earth Tour (photos later today maybe?), along with her there was her roomate Chris from Scarred by Beauty. A few days later I get a message asking if I'd like to shoot the new promos for the band and, since I've been dying to get a chance to do some portrait work with these guys I jumped at it and said yes.
Originally we were only supposed to do two locations, not knowing where, nor how the lighting and so was I was kinda worried about the outcome of these, gotta say considering that the last promo shoot I did was back in 2008, this went really well. Maybe a little too well hahahah, well we ended up doing tree locations one at Chris' place with the whole band butt naked (I get good laughs of their live shows, but that part of the shoot was just a bit too hard to take seriously).

Until they release the photos themselves I'll only let you see a small sneak peek of one of them.

They're awesome people, and deserve everything they got, it's rare to find a whole band where everybody is nice and just a proper human being, they all are! Check them out at their FB page

There's also been a lot of good gigs and festivals.
For instance there was The Psyke Project (one of the most awesome bands that have ever come out of Denmark), there was Hatebreed with their tough guy's fan base and a really laid back attitude during the interivew. There was Enter Shikari partying harder than ever before seen in Danish soil (that's not a rock show it's a rave party now days).

And of course there was A Road To Damascus, yesterday at Tivoli!
I met their bassist Jakob through a friend a while ago and since then he became one of those people I really enjoy running in to at concerts, he's a great guy and so is the rest of his band, check them out and buy their record (no don't download it, buy it! none of the money is going to any money sucking machine called record label but directly to the band! )

This is all for me from now.... kinda got more stuff to say but that's gonna have to wait...

We Can Walk On Water Too @ Aalborg

So for the first gig of the year I went to Aalborg (and to be honest the gig wasn't the real reason why I went up there... But more on that later... Oh screw that... I went to Aalborg to see a certain douche bag that stood me up both times >.< Geeeez you mankind are just plaaaain awesome. Make a girl fall for you and travel to the other end of the country to see you, just so you can stand her up! Awesome Awesome just plain AWESOME! PS: Kill yourself! ).

My friends from We Can Walk On Water Too were supposed to be playing at Aalborg Musik Festival (Aalborg music festival), but arriving there, they soon figured out that the organization of the festival had put them to play at a acoustic scene without the proper equipments for the band to be able to play their violent music. So instead they packed their shit down and went play at a tiny club on the other end of Aalborg called Fedtebrødet (grease bread xD )
They were originally supposed to play at 11.30pm but unfortunally they didn't get to play until 1.30am. After the show the guys were so awesome that they drove me back to Randers St. since the next train wouldn't be leaving from Aalborg until 5.00am.

Anyways see some photos and then read my whinery complaints about what REALLY happened that weekend!

Anyways, tonight will be the time for the first The Psyke Project show of the year!
Can't wait although I could do with not having to get all bruised up and so on.
On Saturday it'll be time for the last Road To Manila show with Jesper Gun on the vocals, I wonder how much of their personality will be lost without him.

Tuesday Feb. 1st Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, The Devils Wears Prada and Tek One at Store Vega! But before the show I'll be hanging out with my boys! It's going to be the perfect day.

New year = new life?

Damn it, I'm terrible at keeping this updated...

Anyways happy New years people.

I've been so busy with nothing lately that I can't understand that I haven't posted anything on here.
Well anyways let's try to a quick resume of the past months I've been away?

Mom left for Brazil and apparently she's not that happy being there... wonder why? 'Cause she's in Rio... I did warn her that gringos and specially those who used to live in Sao Paulo aren't that welcomed in Rio, but would she listen to me? No no no... no one ever does (drama queen much?)
So I've been alone at the apartment with the ferret and the occasional friends coming and
staying for a while.

As some of might have seen, fox tails have been in for a while now... I ended up getting myself 3 all brought as fake fur... one turned out to be real >.< Anyways you can try to spot my smelly little ferret out in the photo to you right!

Some of you might remember me being completely hyper retarded back in October about the start of my right arm's sleeve?
So this is the first part of a 4 elemental pieces + background sleeve.
This one tells the story of a little girl thrown to the wolves in the deep of the Amazon forest, only for the girl come back and avenge herself as a wolf. Pretty awesome story.
Next step will probably be the Maenad (in mid April), then the "Vampiress"(in early May) and finally the 7 tail red Hokkaido fox(appointment not booked yet).
All from tales being told in my family for at least 5 generations.

For Christmas I spent it with Lykke and her family since they were kind enough to invite me over since else I would most likely to have been alone. Everything was great, it's been a long while since I last had so much fun at a Christmas day. Lykke went a tad overboard with giving me presents. But I'm not the only one that got spoiled, Pachi the little smelly ferret furball did too, now she's probably the happiest ferret on the block because of the snack ball she got and a pack of her favorite food. (ps. she ate half the chocolates from the box when I wasn't looking... DAMN FURBALL!)

New Years was as usual spent with the Danish resident staff from Rockfreaks.net and friends.
As usual this means that I get boreeeeeed really early as I'm the only non drunken morron in the crew (although I still love you guys veeeery much)!
But before the party Lykke and I hitted fields and I raped my wallet... (this is getting out of control...) I ended up spending a lot of money on Bodum stuff... (but it's so pretty and colorful how can I ignore it?) which I really didn't need but oh what the fuck... gotta have some fun huh?

I was supposed to be back in class from monday on but my classes have so far all been cancelled so I've been bored at home editing photos from way back in my carreer and reading books, so far I've already finished 3 books in 2,5 days. Keep going this fast and I'll have to rape my wallet at amazon again. -_-

Tomorrow I'm off for a hopefully not too long sitting at the Tusch studio in central CPH to get more done on my left arm's sleeve by Charlotte Monster. Hopefully we're finally get to finish the background and do some very needed touch up on the outlining and the turquoise dress.
After that it's home to Grandpa and his wife for some good food and then it's home and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep zzzZZzzzZZzzZZzzzZZZzzzzzZZZZZZzzz ('Cause I obviously don't get enough of that)!!!!

Next post will be containing a lot of old photos I'm preparing since I'm not sure if I'll be shooting any gigs here in January since Street Dogs decided to cancel their whole euro tour yet again.

Massive photo dumping!

Hey guys! It's been another while since last post...

So I'm just gonna cut the crap of and drop a huge amount of photos on your heads, enjoy.

First off: Stone Sour
Went shoot Stone Sour last week on Tuesday for Rockfreaks.net, awesome show but seriously Corey Taylor you talk too much dude!

The support for the show came from HellYeah, honestly the lighting was pretty awesome for a support band but the music was just soooooo boring.

HellYeah

On Thursday I joined my good friend Lykke and headed back for Store Vega in CPH, that time to shoot and review Avenged Sevenfold for Horns Up Mag.
I didn't bother editing any of the shoots from the Swedish support band Corroded 'cause it was just plain shit lighting and shit music... But you A7X out there probably know that last Thursday was Johnny's birthday, that resulted in the whole place singing Happy Birthday to him ^^

Now last Wednesday I went see Swingin' Utter at Loppen, it was originally meant that Lykke was to shoot that show but she's sick so I covered up for her, but you're gonna have to wait for those photos as I haven't even started on them yet.

Today passed with me ranting constantly about the current Danish weather that consist of storms and fucking SNOW everything is freaking white... Needless to say that I don't like winther much huh ?
So to make my mood a bit better I got a hold of my old friend Fie and we went off shopping.. and poor credit card mine is, that thing is so abused that I ALMOST feel bad about it, but how am I to resist buying awesome Raccoon printed shirts and Iron Fist T-shirts when they're on sale? No seriously... if it wasn't for the fact that the snow would ruin them in a minute I would have gotten myself 3 more pair of shoes today...

To end this looooong blablablabla I've put you through, I'm going to be shooting and reviewing Deftones tomorrow, and I'm so FREAKING excited... I LOVE DEFTONES and getting to shoot these guys twice in a year is for me a HUGE deal. So listen up snow storms... STAY OUT OF MY WAAAAAAY TOMORROW!

PS. Dear DROP DEAD WEBSTORE! could you PLEASE work properly? I have money I want to spend on your store... more money... *sigh* Thank you ^^

Hawthorne Heights + We Are The Ocean + Lights In Reverse at BETA

'Sup people?
Yeah I know totally forgot this thing... again... (which seems to be becoming a habit). >.<

Anyways so on November the 3rd I went to the tiny Shit Island Clubbing (as they put it themselves in English) also known to the Danes as BETA, to see the "emo" legends Hawthorne Heights with support coming from We Are The Ocean and the local Dane band Lights In Reverse.
While I love both HH and WATO I simply don't give a shit about LIR, and can't seem to understand why they were booked as the local support band. Anyways work is work so I snapped some photos of them as well. Enjoy.

Oh yeah btw, I'll be posting photos from Amorphis and Biffy Clyro in the next few days.
So make sure to come back and check them out, and until then you can go over to my Flickr and see some more photos.
I'll probably be uploading a batch of very old (read early '07) gig photos soon.
And if it should take me a bit of a long time to post again, then it's because my new Wacom table is taking AAAAAAAAALL of my time.

How much some things mean to me.

Why am I so aggressive when it comes to photography?
Why am I willing to play as nasty as I can to get what I want?
Why am I telling you this?

Well with the recent events of people going behind my back and playing nice to get what they want I've decided it's time to make something clear.

Nothing ever came to me falling from the sky. I've worked hard to get what I have. Maybe being born and raised inside the music/art/press industry has given me some advantages compared to most others. Some apparently think that therefor I don't appreciate what I have enough or that I don't need to work hard for it, just like anyone else.

That's not true, me being who I am and being born inside only means I have to work at least twice as hard as most others to prove I'm good enough to be where I am.

While I can be friends with other photographer outside of the barriers and 3 song rules at concerts and while I can control my ego when it comes to my personal project. And I'll (most of the time) will gladly go out of my way to help a friend or colleague with their projects or even recommend them to someone I know in case I think their suited for the job.
I DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT APPRECIATE PEOPLE GOING BEHIND MY BACK TO GET THINGS I'VE WORKED HARD FOR DURING YEARS TO ACCOMPLISH!

As Todd Owyoung once said, “As soon as the light go off, I wanna destroy you”. That applies to my way of thinking. We can be friends outside of the industry but when it comes to work. I will make everything I can to bet you at everything.

Sounds too aggressive? Well fear me not, most photographer thinks this way, some are just too good at hiding in under a sheep's skin.

Where am I trying to get with this?
Dear photographers, art, industry friends, are you reading this then please remember. It's nothing personal. There's just things I'm not that willing to share or that I'm more protective of. I don't think that people who don't work hard for things should have them.
Now that raises the question of why I'm not willing to share it. Quite simple. You know that everybody has one thing or person or something that keeps their sanity at a accepted level right?
Photography (mostly music) is what keeps mine in place. Being there and not having to concentrate or think about anything else for those 3 songs is all I ever wanted. To be able to shut down everything else in my head and only focus on what I'm shooting.
While my personal photo projects are much more of my alter ego speaking, and those are normally the nasty thoughts that runs inside my head everyday.

On a final note: I will not play nice and hide beneath a house of cards build upon lies to get what I want. But if someone out there is stepping on my toes I would recommend an immediate retreat, 'cause I won't hold myself responsible for playing dirty if necessary.

Now not everything today will be based on my rants. I'll leave you with a sneak peek of the Biffy Clyro photos coming up on one of the next few days. Enjoy.

You Me At Six + Kids in Glass Houses + Ten Second Epic

Yuuush let's try again (since I accidentally deleted the post before posting it earlier today).

So I went see You Me At Six not many days ago.
First off, I ended arriving almost a whole support set late, 'cause of bad internal communication.
I apologize to Ten Second Epic for the lack of better and more photos. Hopefully I'll get a chance to make it up to them.
I ended up spending most of the show up in the balcony hanging out of it while climbing up the hanging monitors to get most of the photos. Since it was almost impossible to take photos from the front of the stage. (Who says music photographers don't work hard?)

Anyways enough talk here's some photos:
